“Respect Pulsatility”

A machine that lives with the heart

EVAHEART®2 LVAD TECHNOLOGY

The EVAHEART®2 Left Ventricular Assist Device (EVA2) is an implantable mechanical pump that supports patients with advanced heart failure for short- and long-term indications.

The EVA2 features a centrifugal pump with a proprietary hydraulically levitated “open vane” impeller that supports gentle blood circulation and high peak flows for retained native Pulsatility.

LVAD IN ACTION

Hydraulically Levitated Centrifugal Pump

Pump and impeller design supports gentle blood circulation and high peak flows for retained native Pulsatility.

  • Hydraulically levitated impeller uses an ultra-thin layer of circulating sterile water which lubricates the mechanical seal interface and cools the area around the shaft to minimize the risk of clot formation.

  • “Open-vane impeller with large flow gaps allow for excellent blood washout and device operation at low speeds to reduce sheer stress.

  • Pump Speed Modulation allows for customizable speed reduction at set intervals to facilitate aortic valve opening.

Novel Double Cuff Tipless Inflow Cannula

The new double cuff tip-less (DCT) inflow cannula is designed with significantly improved anatomical fitting in mind. This technology enhances tissue in-growth and may contribute to a decrease in post- LVAD stroke.

  • Low profile design
  • Flush inflow ostium
  • Rotational apex suture cuff
